ReLife system

Control at every stage

The outcome of PRP therapy rests on the process. It depends on the centrifuge settings and on the time that passes before the injection. The ReLife system covers all five stages.

Five stages

From blood collection to application

Every stage has its own parameters and its own limits. Below they follow the order set by the ReLife protocol.

Full protocol

01

Blood collection

Venipuncture is performed under aseptic conditions, and the blood is drawn into ReLife tubes with sodium citrate. The tube is inverted several times for even mixing and is never shaken.

02

Separation

Tubes are loaded into the centrifuge strictly symmetrically. The settings are chosen for your own centrifuge and rotor, because numbers taken from another machine do not carry over. The separating gel forms a barrier between the plasma and the cell fraction.

03

Concentration

The required volume of plasma is drawn from the separated fractions. Red cells and other cells are best left behind when the protocol calls for leukocyte-poor PRP.

04

Activation

It is carried out only when needed, with a sterile calcium chloride solution. The parameters come from the protocol, and there is a separate note on this below.

05

Application

The fibrin clot forms quickly, so activated plasma is used straight away. For injections into soft tissue, prior activation is usually unnecessary, because the plasma activates in the tissue itself.

Important. The ratio and the concentration of the activator are set by the ReLife protocol. Activation is carried out only when the protocol calls for it.

Technology

Why sodium citrate

This is not our invention and not a feature of our own. The vast majority of commercial PRP kits worldwide run on sodium citrate or ACD, and it is on these same anticoagulants that such kits go through regulatory clearance. We work the way the industry works.

What it gives the clinician

Citrate binds calcium ions reversibly, so the blood does not clot while the centrifuge runs. Clotting is restored by activation when the protocol provides for it. Heparin acts differently and gives no protection against platelet clumping. In comparative studies heparin causes platelet aggregation and distorts the platelet count, which is why the authors call it unsuitable for preparing PRP.

The practical meaning is simple. Platelet concentration stays predictable from one procedure to the next, and the control count comes out right.

About the raw material

Sodium citrate is a salt of citric acid, and its origin is non-biological. Questions of animal-derived raw material and trace impurities do not arise for it.

Quality control

The tube and the documents

Only what can be checked is listed here. The characteristics of the tube, the registration certificate and the safety class of the device.

ReLife PRP 8 ml tube

  • Sterile
  • Registration certificate RK-MP-5№016078
  • Medical device of safety class 2b

The tube belongs to medical devices of safety class 2b. How class 2b differs from 2a and why substituting one class for the other is unacceptable is explained in the article Safety class 2b of medical devices.
